He's 100% correct, Spyhunter is useless and untrustworthy and Defender is far better than Mcafee for protection.

Please don't post an answer that advises me to make a very destructive decision like that. you're joking, right? Or do you really think I'm that stupid? Spyhunter is an PUP, devoid of any value really and comes up with misleading results in order to get you to buy it, and id suggest switching mcafee to Windows Defender, its generally enough.Īre you kidding me?.

Do I have to learn to program or develop software myself in order to understand? I shouldn't.Įdited by Tianeptine-Sodium, 06 December 2020 - 11:37 PM. Thanks for your opinion, but it is not an opinion that I am even asking for. I thought maybe someone had an intricate enough knowledge of process communications and could diagnose the behavior of my system rather than suggest that my time is unimportant enough to not take proper security precautions. There is just this ONE instance that causes me to be curious about the process occurring when the file "userenvstate.exe" is trying to execute. I KNOW this just by using my computer regularly. The original point is - the two programs DO run fine together. It has legitimate programs ranking right up there with ESET and Norton, though by what I've read, BitDefender and Kaspersky are the top dogs. I don't understand your critique of McAfee. If you don't care about getting hacked you can go ahead and just use that.

I'm expressing an urgent need for security by making this thread - that means that basic Windows Defender alone will not suffice. I'm using the paid version of SpyHunter by the way. Always tell security programs not to scan each other though that does not mean should not be scanned.ĭo you not think it is very odd that a anti-malware company does not have a dedicated forum for their product and customers ?Įdited by Pkshadow, 06 December 2020 - 10:47 PM.

It is also a full blown A/V program which runs fine with everything. I bought life time license when that was a thing as had tried others. If running freeware version of Spyhunter then should switch to Malwarebytes free, at least it does remove things found and not telling you that have to pay. The only one not belonging on this list is Avast/Avg as problematic with other software and sold peoples data until caught. Maybe SpyHunter paid version is ok but there is also the reason supplied to uninstall it which for a lot of anti-malware stuff holds true. There is a reason why it is included in other software or on Motherboard cd's/install medium. I did not share that idea though did show my disdain for both. Hi, others will/would suggest here also to remove both.

exe file and how it is supposed to run! Thanks. I am grateful for all feedback I hope someone has knowledge of this. SpyHunter did not do this for the first 3 weeks I ran it in conjunction with McAfee - so why it started suddenly I don't know. I really just want to understand why the file is being attempted to execute time after time, and what the file is actually supposed to run for. I looked up the file report on Hybrid-Analysis/FalconSandbox (though I have am inept at understanding the technicalities) and there was some indication of suspicion in the file. Perhaps there is a conflict between McAfee and SpyHunter here, but I do not want to be quick to give SpyHunter permission to unblock this executable file. It will pop up every 30 seconds for a straight 5 minutes, sporadically throughout the day, as if they are these random "5 minute" spam attacks.

I am using both McAfee LiveSafe and SpyHunter 5 on my Windows 10 OS computer.Ībout 3 weeks after installing SpyHunter 5, a notice started to popup, saying "Unknown Executable Blocked!" which was "userenvstate.exe" location: C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\MSGSDK Hello members of Bleeping Computer forums,
